When you need it
Keep the phone where both of you can hear it. blurt! makes it clear whose turn it is and says each side out loud.
Say where you are, who you're talking to, and what you need to do.
Speak normally. blurt! says it out loud in the other person's language.
They speak in their language. blurt! tells you what they said in yours.
Come back later. Hear the conversation again, say the words yourself, and see what you remembered.
The language is already around you
In California, Spanish is everywhere. You may have wanted to learn it for years and still not speak it. blurt! lets the conversations you're already having become the way you finally learn.
Other apps decide what you should learn and make you repeat it. blurt! starts with something that actually happened in your life.
Ask what you need. Hear the answer. Come back to those same words later.
The room, the voices, and the reason you were there all stay with the words.
Hear how the person answers and learn from the exchange you actually had.
Your next real conversation can become your next lesson.
Place-aware conversations
When you allow Location Services, blurt! recognizes your country or territory, suggests a likely conversation language, and uses a supported regional form when one is available.
blurt! asks for location while you are using the app. It uses the territory context to make a useful language suggestion.
You see the match before it changes the conversation language, so you can accept it or choose another language yourself.
When the language map supports it, blurt! carries the regional way of speaking into the conversation.
A small act of respect
You can see it. They relax. They smile. The conversation feels different.
Even when blurt! is helping with the words, the message is simple: I see you. I respect you. I want to meet you where you are.
That little bit of effort can give somebody real joy—and turn a quick exchange into a human connection.
Why it sticks
You're not learning the same made-up lesson as thousands of other people. Cat. Dog. Where's the train station? You're coming back to a conversation you actually had. You saw the face. You heard the voice. You felt the room. The scent was in the air. Your emotions and all five senses were there. That whole moment becomes the anchor.
The same lesson everybody gets
Then a real person answers you, and you hope something comes back.
Your conversation
The words are tied to the person, the place, and how the moment felt. Your brain has more ways to find them again.
Choose what you need
blurt! Plus

Cloud features require an internet connection. blurt! asks before it uses Location Services, your camera, or your microphone—and you choose whether to accept the language match.
Why we built it
We were moving to France. We needed to speak with the building manager, read a sign, meet the neighbors, and handle the little conversations that make up a life. Lessons hadn't prepared us for that. The phone was already in our pocket, so that's where we built blurt!.
Keep it on your phone
One phone. Two people. A conversation that can keep going.
