Am I Being Abused?

If you feel afraid to be honest, that matters.

Abuse is not only one dramatic incident. It can be a pattern of control, fear, threats, blame, isolation, pressure, or punishment that makes your life smaller.

Signs

Abuse often shows up as a pattern of control.

  • You change normal behavior to avoid punishment, anger, or threats.
  • Your money, phone, movement, sleep, work, or relationships are controlled.
  • You are blamed for the other person's harmful behavior.
  • You feel unsafe leaving, disagreeing, telling the truth, or asking for help.
