Gaslighting Text Message

Before you answer the text, separate the facts from the pressure.

A loaded text can make you rush, defend, apologize, or doubt yourself. Pause long enough to name what the message is doing.

Before Replying

Do not let the text pick your nervous system for you.

  • Screenshot or save the message if it feels important.
  • Write what happened before the text arrived.
  • Name whether the text denies, minimizes, threatens, or reverses blame.
  • Reply only if replying is useful and safe.

Possible Reply

Short and grounded

Rough:"Stop lying. You did say that."

Clear:"I remember this differently. I am going to pause before continuing this conversation."

Use jRNL to sort the facts. Use Say It when you need a safer sentence to send.
